VIER
2020
HD-videoprojection on terrarium, concrete block, trolley, gas cooker, glass flask, water, steam

The video installation "VIER" explores the idea and abstraction of a social utopia. In order to make the theme tangible, 3D renderings of symbols of an imagined, utopian model of the future are projected onto a glass body. Meanwhile, steam begins to fill the glass body lying on a concrete block. The utopia is conveyed less by a concrete model, but more by underlying utopian ideas and concepts, based on ideologies such as the Gaia hypothesis and collectivism. The constantly changing, elusive vapour as a projection surface supports this feeling.
